On my first photography subject will be on matters relating to Tilt-Shift photography. Tilt-shift photography is mainly divided into both optical tilt-shift photography and digital tilt-shift photography. Both are interesting to play with, and even better when you get the hang of it.
So what is optical tilt-shift photography and what constitutes in this stream?
Anything that is captured through Optical Tilt-Shift lens. Tilt-Shift lens are expensive but they are much sought after by professional photographers for their ability to control perspective and eliminate barrel distortion. They may be too expensive and ‘too much’ for those who cannot understand their hefty price-tag.
What about Digital tilt-shift photography?
This either costs nothing or a whole lot of investment, time, effort and practice. There are tilt-shift generators or makers that will allow you to upload some images you will want to Fake tilt-shift. The process is simple, but the end results are pretty simple as well.
What was i saying about that specific one that take up time, investment, effort and practice? Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop CS to be more precise. This is the prime leader in image-editing software and you can do almost everything you imagine to an image, depending on your creativity and skill of course.
So what is the setback of Photoshop? Obviously, nobody will want to blow that much cash just to Fake tilt-shift images, unless you are in a business that needs photo-retouching and more diverse editing tools. The learning curve is pretty steep as well and it will take time and practice to hone your skills.
The final underlying statement about Tilt-Shift Photography?
You just have to find one method that fits you.
Everyone loves that magical finger touch that does everything we want in the simplest way, but sadly that is not going to be the case for most instances, including outside photography.
